VALLEY HEAD - Devin Bentheimer had a perfect day at the plate Tuesday, going 4-for-4 with a double, a run and three RBIs in leading the Gaylesville Trojans to a 17-1 baseball victory at Valley Head.
Brandon Crane had three hits for the Trojans (8-4), including a pair of doubles, three runs and three RBIs. Landon Lawson, Brayden Stordahl and Austin Stordahl each collected two hits. One of Lawson's was a double. He also had a RBI. Both of Brayden and Austin Stordahl's hits were doubles. Brayden Stordahl also scored three runs and had two RBIs. Austin Stordahl added three runs and three RBIs.
Kaleb Whatley contributed a hit, two runs and a RBI. Rhett Maddux also had a double and scored a run. Henry Steele scored a run.
Colby Scott captured the win on the mound. He tossed all five innings, giving up a run and two hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
The two teams complete their series on Thursday at Gaylesville at 4:30 p.m.
Piedmont 14, Pleasant Valley 1
PLEASANT VALLEY - Derrick Baer homered, doubled, scored two runs and drove in four more to lead the Piedmont Bulldogs to a 14-1 baseball victory at Pleasant Valley on Tuesday.
Taylor Morrow and Bailey Graves both collected three hits and scored a pair of runs for the Bulldogs (6-7). One of Morrow's hits was a double. He also three RBIs. Graves added a RBI.
Taylor Hayes tallied two hits, including a double. He also scored a pair of runs and had a RBI. TJ Fairs had a hit and scored two runs. Easton Kirk and Ry Atkins both contributed a hit and drove in a run. Michael Rogers had a hit and scored a run.
Hayes went the distance to pick up the win on the mound for the Bulldogs. He surrendered an earned run on three hits with a walk and nine strikeouts.
The two teams complete their series on Thursday at Piedmont beginning at 4:30 p.m.
