A methamphetamine conversion lab operating in Gordon County has been shut down, according to authorities.
According to Sheriff's Office and Jail reports:
In May, GCSO detectives in the Drug Enforcement Unit began an investigation into a reported meth trafficking operation in Calhoun.
On Thursday (June 12), GCSO detectives, along with probation officers from the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý of Community Supervision conducted a search at 200 Tara Drive, locating a "large amount" of solid crystal meth, and a "very large" amount of liquid meth. Elements of a laboratory operation were also found "wherein the liquified methamphetamine is converted to a solid to be trafficked," a GCSO report stated. Detectives also found cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, and a "hallucinogenic substance."
Arrested at the home was Tracy Van McEntyre, 62. He was charged with possession of cocaine, cocaine trafficking, possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of mushrooms, possession of drug related objects, manufacture of drugs with intent to distribute, and a probation violation -- all felonies -- as well as misdemeanor possession of drug related objects.
A GCSO report says McEntyre has had at least ten prior drug-related arrests, and has been convicted of drug trafficking at least twice.
