As the result of multiple tips from the community, Dekalb County deputies arrested two men with warrants on them Sunday, Dec. 11.
Arrested, according to a press release from Dekalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris, were Jason Walter, 30, of Grove Oak, who was arrested for probation violation and felon forbidden to possess firearm and Timothy Ray Smith, 29, of Fyffe, who was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.
The DeKalb County Sheriffӽ紫ý Office, according to the press release from Sheriff Harris, received multiple anonymous phone call about possible illegal activity going on at a residence on County Road 19 in Grove Oak. On December 11th Deputies and Investigators went to the residence to check on the illegal activity.
When Deputies and Investigators arrived at the residence they found Walter and Smith. Deputies and Investigators also found Walter in possession of a firearm and three other firearms were recovered from the residence that could possibly be stolen.
An investigation is still ongoing on the recovery of the firearms.
Sheriff Harris says “as deputies and investigators continue to work day and night to make cases such as these, we thank citizens for their phone calls and tips that help make these arrests possible.”
