CENTRE, Ala. 鈥 A man wanted for a double homicide in Alabama was arrested without violence Tuesday after a traffic stop, and his wife was also found safe in his vehicle.
Jeffrey Wilcox Jr., 30, was on the run for two days following a double homicide Sunday in , and he allegedly kidnapped his wife, Chasidy Wilcox, also 30.
鈥淭he 911 Center received a call that the suspect vehicle had been spotted in the Centre area,鈥 said Josh Summerford, chief investigator for the Cherokee County Sheriff性视界传媒 Office.
A Centre police officer actually spotted the truck and made a traffic stop in the parking lot of the sheriff性视界传媒 office, Summerford said. Chasidy Wilcox appeared to be unharmed, he added.
鈥淚 am sure the events over the last few days have been very traumatic for her mentally,鈥 he noted.
When asked if Wilcox had any weapons on him, Summerford said those details were still under investigation late Tuesday.
Wilcox was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center and charged with capital murder and kidnapping, according to the sheriff性视界传媒 office website.
Wilcox is accused of shooting and killing Letitia Andrews, 48, and Daniel Andrews, 48, Chasidy Wilcox性视界传媒 parents.
Summerford said investigators believe the incident was a result of a domestic dispute.
鈥淭hey were married and had been separated,鈥 Summerford said of the Wilcoxes. 鈥淎ll indications are that it was a domestic dispute between he and his wife.鈥
Summerford said Jeffrey Wilcox has been cooperative with the investigation. He also felt Wilcox was ready to give himself up.
