An embattled former reality TV star from Rome was arrested Monday and charged with involuntary manslaughter after she was accused of supplying drugs to an East Rome man who overdosed on Feb. 16, reports state.
Whitney Blake Purvis, 33, is charged with felony aggravated involuntary manslaughter for providing a drug called "tranq," which is a combination of Xylazine and Fentanyl, to the man who later died of an overdose.
According to reports, Purvis supplied drugs to John Mark Harris, 37, at his home on East Eighth Street in East Rome, where he later died of an overdose and was discovered by his father.
Purvis, who is currently living in Cartersville, was featured in the reality television show "16 and Pregnant" on MTV. The show aired for six seasons, ending in 2021, and spawned five spin-off series with identical premises.
Purvis recently lost her 16-year-old son, Weston Owen Gosa, whom she was pregnant with during the show. The child died on June 2 of unknown causes following a medical emergency.
