Christian Community Outreach is hosting a Back to School Outreach fundraiser this month, and is in need of donations from the community.
The drive will be held at the Calhoun Recreation ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Park on Saturday, June 28, from 12:30 to 3 p.m., though other drop-off times and locations will be available. Most-needed items for the drive include backpacks, school supplies, clothes, shoes, socks, and underwear.
“There will be a competition happening that day between two volunteers, to see who is able to raise the most money, which will then be used to purchase backpacks,†said Sherry Turner of Christian Community Outreach. “The winner will get to give the loser a pie to the face.â€
Tickets for a raffle basket will also be on sale, with prize items including massage certificates, a gym membership, chiropractic visits, and more, valued at $1,200. Tickets will be priced at $5 each, or $10 for three. There will also be pizza slices and drinks available by donation.
For those interested in bringing their kids along, the drive will also be hosting their very own Captain America for a special appearance, ready to take some photos.
For anyone who is unable to make the event on June 28 but would still like to donate, they can reach out to Sherry Turner at 678-767-0071, or financial donations may also be mailed to CCO Ministry P.O. Box 2693. Venmo (@ChristianCommunity-Outreach) and CashApp ($CCOMinistry) are also available.
