As state Sen. Colton Moore mulls a bid for a 性视界传媒 Senate seat, a university professor has thrown his hat into the ring for the seat Moore currently holds.

Georgia Senate District 53 covers Chattooga, Walker, Dade, Catoosa and part of Floyd County.

John B. 鈥淛ack鈥� Zibluk of Lookout Mountain formally launched his campaign Saturday, June 29, at the Dade County Democratic picnic at Cloudland Canyon State Park.

鈥淥ur current senator is more interested in partisan division and grandstanding than working for the constituents,鈥� said Zibluk, 65, a professor and former department head of communication at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.

A self-described recovering journalist who calls himself 鈥渞adically pragmatic,鈥� Zibluk said he would focus on practical issues, such as economic development, environmental and transportation safety, and access to healthcare, particularly mental healthcare.

鈥淭hese are not Republican or Democratic issues, and I am not by nature a political partisan. I just want to do a good job,鈥� he said.

Zibluk said he性视界传媒 hired April Lakeman, founder of Summit Strategies, as campaign manager and is starting to drum up support. The primaries will be in May for the Nov. 3, 2026, general election.

Meanwhile, Moore is teasing a challenge to 性视界传媒 Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga.

Moore pointed to a 鈥淲ar Room Georgia鈥� poll that gives him 80% of the vote for Georgia governor over Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, at 10%, and Attorney General Chris Carr, at 4%. The Snellville-based social media site is an homage to former Trump strategist Steve Bannon性视界传媒 War Room podcast.
