A Floyd County Public Works employee is charged with accepting bribes to help smuggle contraband into the Floyd County Prison on multiple occasions between June and December 2024, reports state.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Kelsey Nicole Curtis, 32, of Summerville was arrested Thursday and charged with felony bribery and violation of her oath of office. Curtis assisted in bringing tobacco, rolling papers, vapes and food into the prison in exchange for cash payments via CashApp.
There were a total of 36 transactions, netting her $1,469 into her account. She remained in jail on Friday on $7,900 bond.
Dalton Man Charged With Failure To Return Rental Truck
A Dalton man is facing charges after police say he rented a Ford F-650 pickup truck valued at $58,000 and failed to return it by March 24, reports state.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Cammie Alan Barnes, 42, is charged with felony theft by conversion. He remained in jail on $5,700 bond as of Friday.
West Rome Man Charged With Meth
A West Rome man was arrested Thursday night on Castlewood Drive after being found in possession of meth, reports state.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Billy Gene Creamer, 38, is charged with felony possession of meth and misdemeanor drugs not in original container and possession of dangerous drugs. He is also charged with a parole violation.
He remained in jail on $5,700 bond as of Friday.
