A pair of Rome teens led police on a high-speed chase in a stolen car early Wednesday morning, reaching speeds over 125 mph, before eventually wrecking on Calhoun Avenue at Atteiram Drive, reports state.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Ronoldo Maurice Hodges Jr., 19, and Jarvis Darrelle Adams Jr., 19, are charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property when they were found driving a 2016 Honda Fit valued at $10,500, which was reported stolen.
The pair fled police at high speed, reaching over 125 mph, before running a red light and nearly striking another vehicle, before striking a fixed object and fleeing on foot.
Hodges is further charged with felony possession of a Schedule 1 narcotic, fleeing police, criminal damage to property and interference with government property.Â
After fleeing the vehicle, Hodges failed to put it in park, and it continued to roll forward until it struck a police vehicle. He is further charged with multiple moving violations, including: hit and run, speeding, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and obstruction when he and Adams fled police on foot.
Hodges is held without bond on a hold from Bartow County and Adams is held on $3,500 bond, as of Thursday.
Police: Silver Creek man threatened man with machete
A Silver Creek man is facing assault charges after police say he "approached a man in an offensive manner with a machete/large knife", at a residence on Pleasant Valley Road, reports state.
Samuel Lance Adams, 36, is charged with felony aggravated assault. He remained in jail on $11,200 bond as of Thursday.
Inmate charged with conspiring to smuggle contraband into prison
An inmate at the Floyd County Prison is facing charges after he conspired with a co-conspirator, named as Justin Dunlap, to smuggle contraband into the prison on June 23, reports state.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Muandarious Gartae Hall, 30, is charged with felony possession of items prohibited by the warden. He tried to smuggle one pound of pipe tobacco, ten packs of rolling papers and five sheets of paper soaked in an unknown substance.
